DIPOXY-2K-EP-Primer-S/Grundierung is a medium viscosity, high gloss epoxy resin primer and is manufactured and distributed by us exclusively in "premium quality" for the production of perfect primers, such as pool coatings and primers for hard-to-wet surfaces (contaminated / damp / wet)!
DIPOXY-2K-EP-Primer-S/primer can be used for almost any application. E.g.: in the jewellery sector, table production, so-called "River Table", for floors, pond,
aquarium and terrarium construction, as well as for boat, ship and aircraft construction. Moulded parts can also be cast in silicone moulds with this primer, and carbon, aramid and glass fibre connections are also possible. Also ideally suited for model making! The best results are achieved with our effect colours and pigments developed for epoxy resins!
This primer is often also used as a roof sealant or as a balcony sealant. In the example shown above, the primer was first applied in RED-BROWN and then in WHITE. This makes it easier to see where you have already rolled and where you have not! The final layer in the example was later coated in BLACK. You can of course choose the colour sequence as you wish!
In the example below, a roof was sealed with our epoxy resin primer without the chimney having been plastered first. This also poses no problem for our Primer-S primer! It penetrates into the joints and the fired brick, seals and restores the strength of even old porous Joints.
Priming and sealing a floor slab or terrace with a cellar underneath, or a balcony with a garage underneath, is also no challenge for our epoxy resin primer Primer-S.
You can easily waterproof the entire surface in just one pass if you wish.
Consumption quantities of DIPOXY-2K-EP-Primer-S/primer (private and commercial use):
The rough rule for the consumption of the primer is:
1kg = 1mm layer thickness per 1m² (1m x 1m)
We recommend applying 1-2 coats of primer 0.2-0.3mm thick.
In the floor area, the recommended minimum quantity of 0.2-0.6mm can also be applied all at once.
If necessary or desired, a maximum of 8mm can be applied at once.
If you use DIPOXY-2K-EP-Primer-S/primer or our pool/pool coating DIPOXY-2K-5000 Pool-Paint as a pool/terrarium coating, wait at least 2 days before filling with water. If you have the option of only filling with water after 3-6 days, you can avoid any discolouration (lighter spots) depending on the temperature (the warmer the earlier it can be filled)!
Processing time / dripping time:
at 10°C approx. 40-60min.
at 20°C approx. 20-40min.
at 30°C approx. 10-25min.
above 30°C is possible, but without time specifications!
Final strength:
Surface strength (touchable) Final strength approx. 2-4 days later!
at 10°C approx. 24-48 hours
at 20°C approx. 12-24 hours
at 30°C approx. 6-12 Hours
Storage:
1 year / Optimally at 10-25°C, dry and protected from direct sunlight!
You can choose between WHITE and BLACK for the primer!
The solvent-free DIPOXY-2K-EP-Primer-S/primer is mixed in a ratio of 100:60 (e.g. 1.25kg A and 0.75kg B) by weight and is therefore easy to apply. Ideally, components A and B should be mixed at a temperature of 10°C-30°C. Although the EP-Primer-S/primer is basically self-deaerating, for best results, care should be taken to stir at a maximum of 250-350 rpm for approx. 4-5 minutes until both components are well mixed!
! Attention !
As soon as both components are mixed, a chemical reaction occurs which releases heat (10-20 min.). Depending on how high the container is, the heat cannot escape quickly enough through the surface. The rule is: ‘better wide and flat than high and narrow!’ For this reason, we recommend transferring the epoxy resin to a flat paint container immediately after mixing so that it can be removed from there for brushing or rolling.
If you want to spray or paint the mixture, do so quickly and promptly. Always wear a respirator and clean the spray gun immediately after use!
