- DIPOXY-2K-WEP-Primer-X/Grundierung -

DIPOXY-2K-WEP-Primer-X/Primer is a thin, matt epoxy resin primer and is manufactured exclusively by us in ‘premium quality’.
Although it is a water-based epoxy resin primer, it can also be used to prime surfaces that are difficult to wet and have light contamination from oil residues and Petrol.
If heavy floor loads and shear effects occur, e.g. from a forklift truck, or if the surfaces to be primed are damp, it is better to use DIPOXY-2K-EP-Primer-S/Primer!
DIPOXY-2K-WEP-Primer-X/Primer can be used for many applications.
Due to its low odour, this primer is preferably used indoors, e.g. in the jewellery sector, the manufacture of geode base plates, priming kitchen worktops, general ART priming, for wood, concrete and screeds, floors, aquarium and terrarium construction, as well as for boat, ship and aircraft construction. Also suitable for model making!

This primer is often used as the first layer of terrace or balcony waterproofing. In the example shown above, a garden terrace was primed in white to protect the concrete from water penetration and to form an adhesive bridge between the concrete and the finished epoxy resin layer. If you want to apply several coats of primer, it is advisable to roll each coat in a different colour. This way, you always know where you have already been and cannot overlook any areas!
In the example below, a wall consisting of plaster, filler and metal was rolled with our Primer-X primer. Normally, you would need at least two different primers for this wall!

Priming a floor slab or terrace with a basement underneath, or a balcony with a garage underneath, is no problem with Primer-X epoxy resin primer. The subsequent sealing can be done either with our Primer-S epoxy resin primer, with 2K-5000 Pool-Paint or with 2K-700 Floor, or with any other epoxy resins from DIPOXY. After priming, you can easily waterproof the entire surface in a single coat if you wish.
Our WEP-Primer-X is ideal for pre-coating and priming Wood.
Primers are used to seal the pores of wood prior to treatment in order to achieve a perfect, bubble-free paint or epoxy resin finish. For example, simply cut a geode shape out of a plywood board and brush or roll on WEP Primer-X primer before coating with epoxy resin, or prime your old kitchen worktop without having to sand it first (depending on how durable you want it to be) and then create your desired design. The primer is simply applied with a roller or brush, which you can easily wash out with water after use and reuse. Even if the primer has been dry for a few days, you can apply the next coat without having to sand it down first!
Consumption quantities for DIPOXY-2K-WEP-Primer-X/primer (private and commercial):
The rule of thumb for primer consumption is:
1 kg = 3–4 m² (3 to 4 m x 1 m) and is sufficient for approx. 3 coats of 0.2–0.3 mm each.
We recommend applying at least 1-2 coats of primer, each 0.2-0.3 mm thick.
DIPOXY-2K-WEP-Primer-X/Primer S can only be applied thinly!
If it is necessary or desired to apply thicker coats of primer at once, a maximum of 8 mm of Primer-S can be applied at a time.
For areas that are permanently exposed to water and where there is also pressure from water, such as swimming pools or whirlpools, it is better to use Dipoxy-2K-5000 Pool Paint.
This way, you are always on the safe side and will not experience any unpleasant surprises!

The solvent-free DIPOXY-2K-WEP-Primer-X/primer is mixed in a ratio of 5:1 (e.g. 1 kg A and 0.2 kg B) by weight and is therefore easy to apply.
Ideally, components A and B should be mixed at a temperature of 10°C-30°C. You can dilute the primer with a maximum of 5% tap water (for best results, use deionised water).
WEP-Primer-X/primer is self-venting, so there is no need to pay attention to the speed of rotation when mixing. However, care should be taken not to whip the mixture until it becomes foamy.
If you want to spray or paint the mixture, please be sure to use a respirator mask and clean the spray gun immediately after use!
